Christchurch – why was the damage so severe?

With people still reeeling from the Christchurch earthquake, questions are being asked about why the lastest quake caused so much more damage than the one on September 4th 2010. Catherine Zengerer caught up with New Zeland Seismologist, Bill Fry, from GNS Science New Zealand, to find out. She started by asking him to explain how the richter scale works.

The Big F: Eddie White and the Animation Peep Show

The Adelaide Film Festival was launched last week and features a healthy dose of animation, including the Animation Peep Show – a late night line-up of seedy animated shorts for seedy adults.  Curator Eddie White from the People’s Republic of Animation told Catherine Zengerer it promises “blood, guts, and scantily clad cats”!

Unley Gardeners Plant Rescue

Eight years ago, Mary Morris realised that many plants were being unnecessarily lost because of demolition and redevelopment of suburban gardens.
