An obvious fact of life is energy. Today we depend on it for everything from our basic daily needs to the luxuries we’ve all grown to love.
But there is the problem of getting energy. The costs can be high for both the people and the environment.
Coal Seam Mining has emerged in discussions in the political arena on the energy debates.
Tony Abbott caused headlines last week when he claimed land owners should have the right to refuse mining companies from entering their land and has since backed away from his original statements.
But why can coal seam miners just show up in our backyards with their drills. Where are our rights?
Today was joined by environmental advocate for the River Murray, Dianne Bell to find out but first he asked what coal seam mining really is.
