Bridge Club With Barbara Travis

Here at Radio Adelaide we like to think we’re pretty trendy. We always know the latest bands, we are up with the latest fashion trends. And we’re always at the hippest plays and tweeting or facebooking away on the latest social networking sites. In fact we’re more than trendy – we like to think we’re actually ahead of the latest trend. We were getting back into lawn bowling, way before all the young people started going to play barefoot bowls at the local bowling club. We were busy knitting before the latest knitting craze hit our shores some years ago, and we were swapping our conventional bikes for fixies months before all the hipsters starting doing it. So when we tell you we may have picked up the latest trend you better listen carefully. We think the card game Bridge may well be the latest coolest thing that in a few months everyone will be gagging to get into, and if we’re right that would make Barbara Travis probably the coolest person in Adelaide right now, and Tim Brunero spoke to her about the game of Bridge – and Omar Sharif!

Protest Against Street Preachers: Interview With Tom Angley – Streetcast

If you’ve passed through Rundle Mall on a Friday night lately, you’ve probably seen a bunch of street preachers holding big signs and shouting in the name of God. The group is notorious for their in-your-face attitude in spreading their beliefs, and have been accused of threatening, insulting and intimidating passers-by. But last Friday night the preachers were drowned out by a message of peace and love, with about a hundred protesters coming together to try and rid the Mall of these so-called fanatics. Tom Angley from Streetcast went to the rally to find out what all the fuss was about, and Tim Brunero airs what happened.
