You may dread your elderly relatives telling the same yarns every Christmas, but there’s a whole generation of stories disappearing as their authors begin to age.
The SA Writers Centre and Helping Hand Aged Care are working together to record these important stories with the Writer-In-Residence Program.
They’re encouraging older people to express themselves in any written form ranging from poems to a memoir.
Patrick Allington is a local author whose work was nominated for last year’s Miles Franklin literary award.
He’s helping to bring South Australian stories to light and joined Tim Brunero in the studio.
