May is South Australia History Month, and there are lots of things to discover, with many activities about Colonial Adelaide happening all round the State.
Although South Australia was a Free Settlement, there were many convicts here as workers, and some of their stories bear investigating, as in tours of the Adelaide Gaol, which is as old as Tasmania’s Port Arthur, being built in 1841.
There’s a lot of history, too, in Adelaide Cemeteries, and Tim Brunero spoke to Robert Pitt, the CEO of Adelaide Cemeteries Board.
