Roxby Rave

Uranium has become a driving force in Australia’s mining boom, and BHP Billiton are planning to expand the Olympic Dam Mine, much to the distaste of local protest groups.

As a result, The Desert Liberation Front are throwing a rather unorthodox protest at Roxby Downs this Saturday. The 6 day protest, filled with music, theatre, cabaret and arts is aimed to bring over 10,000 attendees to the Roxby area and hopes are high that BHP’s plans can be curbed.

Tim Brunero spoke with Nectaria Calan, FOE (Friends of the Earth anti-nuclear campaigner, on Breakfast this morning about just exactly what the protesters are hoping to achieve.
