Political heartbreak in Mexico City

Millions of people made their way onto the streets in Mexico City to protest against the rise of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, which was re-elected in the Presidential election.

The PRI – which has been referred to as ‘The Perfect Dictatorship’ – ruled for over 70 years and many protestors believe the PRI bought votes and staged a media blackout of alternative parties to win the election and re-gain power.

So should Mexicans be worried about the PRI returning to power? Freelance Radio Documentary Producer and Lecturer at Monash University, Colm McNaughton, joined to Tim Brunero on the line to answer this question and more.
