Type 1 diabetes continues to threaten the lives of an estimated million Australians. Every parent dreads the moment they learn that their child has the disease.
Eliza Bartlett told Breakfast Presenter Tim Brunero about the moment she realised she had diabetes at the age of nine. However she determined to not let it stop her.
Eliza has decided to walk from Adelaide to Melbourne in April 2013 to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in the hopes of finding a cure.
