The fight against HIV/AIDS

HIV and AIDS are not beaten.

We may be doing pretty well here but factors from religious boycotting of condoms, to the taboos around homosexuality in countries all over the world mean a lot still needs to be done.

Some Aussies have been working as part of a negotiating  team that has got the United Nations to ratify a political declaration to name some of the key groups at risk such as injecting drug users and men who have sex with men.

It’s amazing it has taken so long…

Tim Brunero spoke to Rob Lake from the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations to talk about this achievement.

  1. .The at the UN is a loose coalition of designed to promote its members collective interests and create an enhanced joint negotiating capacity in the United Nations.
