Photo (C) Pat Scullion

A couple of weeks ago, Tim Brunero spoke to Dave Kirner of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) about how Stegbar locked their employees out of the site. What could be termed a “Reverse Protest” against the pay rise for which the employees have been campaigning.
Stegbar agreed to the pay rise, but only if the employees gave up their afternoon break – their “smoko”.
Tim Brunero spoke to Dave Kirner to find out what has happened since.
