Murray Darling Basin Draft Plan: Not so water-tight

Ever wake up thirsty in the Morning? Try being thirsty for a decade.
Australia has just escaped her 10 year drought, and it’s time we started to rehydrate.

The not-so-water-tight draft plan from Murray-Darling Basin Authority has recently been leaked and its presence has raised a number of concerns.

Most notably is the suggestion that only 2800 gigalitres is needed to kick the health back into our water system.

The success of the draft plan is a sink or swim issue for the future of Australia’s sustainable water supply. Professor Diane Bell Chair of the Water Committee of the conservation council of SA talked to Jennie Lenman about the issue.
