Tent Embassy Fallout Continues

The Aboriginal tent embassy for 40 years has become an unofficial symbol on the Australian political landscape.

The fallout from the Aboriginal Tent Embassy Australia Day protests is continuing, with the Opposition and the Government squabbling over what happened in the lead-up to the demonstrations.

Brian Butler is a respected Aboriginal elder from the Adelaide region and is currently the Congress Director of the National Congress of Australia’s First Peoples.

Brian was in Canberra on January 26th attending the 40th Anniversary of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy and recalls the events of that day and believes that Tony Abbott instigated the whole incident.

Nunga Wangga’s Andrea Fraser firstly asked Brian the question of what he thought of Tony Abbott’s comments about the Aboriginal Tent Embassy and what he thought of the actions of the protestors.
