Universal rights too old?

They are often a silent minority, but as life-expectancy increases, much more scrutiny has been put on improving our aged population’s quality of life.

The Federal Government recently announced aged care reform and last year the full-time role of Age Discrimination Commissioner was created to help with issues relating to the elderly.

Susan Ryan is Australia’s first Age Discrimination Commissioner at the Australian Human Rights Commission and was in Adelaide earlier this week to speak at a national conference on her role.

She took time from her busy schedule to speak with Angus Randall about human rights issues relating to the elderly population.
