Winter Solstice and The Pagan Alliance

Today is the midwinter, or the winter solstice which means that its the shortest day and longest night of the year.

The passage of the seasons was very important to many of any ancient peoples of the world such as the Celts, the Norse and the American and central Indians. Today, groups that are broadly known as Pagans have continued that sense of connection to the natural world. The word ‘pagan’ means ‘rustic’, or ‘rural’, and those who identify themselves as Pagans put value in harmony, spirituality and connection with the nature.

Tim Brunero was joined in the studio by Dianne Gilbert of the Pagan Alliance of South Australia, and Adrienne Piggot, lead singer and songwriter of Spiral Dance.
