SANFL Indigenous round

It won’t just be the rivalry between Norwood and Sturt that will attract crowds to Coopers Stadium in Norwood tonight.

The crowd will also be there to enjoy the SANFL Indigenous Round. The speed and flair that Aboriginal players bring to the game is not surprising when you consider that football originates from the traditional Aboriginal game known as marngrook.

The SANFL currently has highest ever level of Aboriginal participation in the competition’s history. AFL legend Andrew McLeod who’s now an AFL Engagement and Talent Coordinator has been working closely with the SANFL on many initiatives to increase Aboriginal participation and employment pathways.

Andrew chatted to the Nunga Wangga team about programs happening in SA including the APY Lands. Stevie Goldsmith asked him about what was being planned for tonight’s SANFL Indigenous Round.
