Timber workers fear the axe

The future of timber harvests in Australia’s south-east is set to undergo massive change, with the state government awarding up to 100 years of timber production to US company The Campbell Group.

Many in the region who work for the major timber companies fear for their jobs once the Campbell Group moves in. So much so that some workers even chained themselves inside Labor’s headquarters this week.

Angus Randall spoke to Brad Coates from the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union to discuss the implications.
