Overdose Awareness Day

Every day at least one Australian dies of a drug overdose related death, most of them involving legal opiate painkillers and many heroin.

It happens every day. And each of those people who die leave others behind wondering what they could have done to stop it.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day, with the twin goals of Prevention and Remembrance. Prevention is an obvious goal as most of the deaths are preventable, but why is Remembrance so important?

Nicky Page put that question to John Ryan from Anex, the organizers of the day.
