Salvos pop up in Adelaide

Our trusty producer Martin Goodman spoke to The Salvation Army’s Allen Dewhirst about the interesting history of the Salvos.

The Salvos was founded under a tree in a park in Adelaide. Allen said that a Salvos pop-up store was located outside  prison gates to assist the people who came straight out of jail and were in need of clothes.

Since then the Salvos have been helping thousands of Australians each year.

Pop-up shop will be selling various recycled items like clothes and brick-a-brac.

When: Friday 28 September, 1pm

Where: at the Adelaide Train Station

What time: from 1-6pm
