The Australian Federal Government is the current overseer of environmental policy and law. By maintaining an objective, federal view rather than a state view, it is able to properly assess any environmental issues, particularly those which cross state borders. However reforms have been proposed that would turn this power back to the states. Angus Randall was joined by Adjunct Professor Rob Fowler from the University of South Australia to find out.
