Kaurna Comeback

Have you ever considered learning a new language? Perhaps Spanish, German, Japanese or Mandarin? Well how about getting in touch with traditional South Australian culture and learning to speak Kaurna?

Being a local resident, it is common place to acknowledge the Kaurna people as traditional custodians of the Adelaide Plains, but sadly the number of speakers of the traditional Kaurna language has plummeted in recent years.

This morning on Breakfast on Radio Adelaide we spoke with Jack Buckskin, teacher at the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre, about his hopes for reviving the lost language and bringing new life to Kaurna culture.
