Excising Australia

Last week the Australian Government moved to excise mainland Australia from the refugee zone – a controversial move that the Howard government supported six years ago.

This means anyone who arrives on the Australian mainland by boat will be sent offshore for processing to Nauru or Manus Island.

Often the voices of asylum seekers and refugees get drowned out amid the heated debate our immigration policy, so to find out what it’s like for a refugee, Radio Adelaide Producer, Libby Parker, spoke to Refugee Keyvan Abak.
