Having to fight for rights isn’t something you normally associate with those that serve the community, but unfortunately our firefighters have had to do just that; with those suffering cancer from a result of their heroic work forced to prove a link to their work. Considering occupational firefighters are FIVE TIMES more likely to contract cancer that seems an odd situation to say the least.
Luckily that’s all set to change this week, with Workers’ Rehabilitation Minister Jack Snelling announcing firefighters would no longer need to prove that.
Joining Angus Randall from the Firefighters Union to discuss what this move means for firefighters was Industrial Officer Joe Szakacs
