Protecting the vines from urban times

The importance of preserving our iconic South Australian regions has been a point of focus recently, with the Character Preservation legislation introduced to protect the McLaren Vale and Barossa regions from urban sprawl.

But the protection of hundreds of thousands of hectares is just the beginning, with many flow on isses affecting residents and local industries.

With amendments being proposed for the regions current development plans, Bill Walter spoke to Family First MLC Rob Brokenshire about the flow on effects and the potential for heritage listing.
