China is currently in headlines as the Communist Party has only just unveiled new leadership. But an issue that is being overlooked is the way in which Tibetans continue to be repressed by the Chinese communist system.
Last week 6000 students took to the streets of Rebkong in Eastern Tibet calling for freedom and showing support for the 70 Tibetans who have resorted to setting themselves on fire in a desperate bid to raise alarm.
In light of these events, Bill Walter spoke with Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young who is calling for the Australian Government to take action.
